These terms apply to comments you post on the SynquUp blog at synquup.com/blog/ (“Comments”). They’re part of the Terms of Use of SynquUp, LLC (“SynquUp,” “we,” “us”).
How commenting works
- You do not need an account to comment. SynquUp does not offer user accounts or logins.
- To comment, you enter a name and email address on the comment form. WordPress stores your name, email address, and IP address with your comment.
- Your name and comment are shown publicly. Your email address is not displayed publicly.
- Comments may appear on the site without being reviewed first. We remove comments that break these rules.
What you’re agreeing to when you comment
By posting a Comment, you confirm that:
- You wrote it yourself, or have the right to share it
- It doesn’t include personal or identifying information about yourself or anyone else — including full names, addresses, insurance or financial details, legal case information, or clinical/medical details tied to an identifiable person (see our Privacy Policy)
- It’s true to your own experience — you’re not impersonating anyone or making claims on behalf of an organization you’re not authorized to speak for
- It doesn’t violate anyone else’s rights, including privacy or intellectual property rights
What’s not allowed
SynquUp may remove Comments, without notice, that:
- Include personal, identifying, financial, legal, or clinical information about yourself or someone else
- Contain harassment, hate speech, threats, or content that puts someone’s safety at risk
- Promote or give specific medical, dosing, or treatment instructions in place of a healthcare professional
- Are spam, misleading, or advertising or other commercial content
- Violate any law or infringe anyone’s rights
Comments are public, and not reviewed for accuracy before posting
Comments may be visible to anyone who visits SynquUp, and may be indexed by search engines. SynquUp does not review Comments for medical or factual accuracy before they’re published, and does not verify the identity or credentials of the person posting. Comments reflect the views and experiences of the person who wrote them — not medical advice, and not the views of SynquUp.
Ownership and license
You keep ownership of what you write. By posting, you give SynquUp a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and (where reasonably necessary — for example, formatting for the site) reproduce your Comment on SynquUp and in connection with promoting SynquUp, for as long as it remains posted.
If you experience harassment
People share real, often vulnerable experiences in comments — a diagnosis, a caregiving struggle, or their identity. If you feel you’ve been the target of harassment, threats, hate speech, or abusive content from another commenter, please contact us at chuck@synquup.com. Let us know what happened and, if possible, where it occurred (which post or comment) — we’ll review it and take appropriate action, which may include removing the content and blocking further comments from that person. You shouldn’t have to just live with it or stop commenting to avoid it.
Removal
You can request removal of your own Comment by contacting chuck@synquup.com. SynquUp may also remove, edit, or restrict any Comment at its discretion, including Comments that violate these terms.
No liability for user content
SynquUp is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of anything posted by commenters, and is not liable for any harm arising from reliance on Comments. This is educational sharing between readers, not professional guidance.
