User-Submitted Content Terms

These terms apply to Community Blogs, comments, and any other area of synquup.com where you can submit your own content (“User Content”). They’re part of SynquUp’s Terms of Use.

What you’re agreeing to when you post

By submitting User Content to SynquUp, you confirm that:

  • You wrote it yourself, or have the right to share it
  • It doesn’t include personal or identifying information about yourself or anyone else — including full names, addresses, insurance or financial details, legal case information, or clinical/medical details tied to an identifiable person (see our Privacy Reminder, shown wherever you can submit content)
  • It’s true to your own experience — you’re not impersonating anyone or making claims on behalf of an organization you’re not authorized to speak for
  • It doesn’t violate anyone else’s rights, including privacy or intellectual property rights

What’s not allowed

SynquUp may remove content, without notice, that:

  • Includes personal, identifying, financial, legal, or clinical information about yourself or someone else
  • Contains harassment, hate speech, threats, or content that puts someone’s safety at risk
  • Promotes or gives specific medical, dosing, or treatment instructions in place of a healthcare professional
  • Is spam, misleading, or commercial content not authorized as sponsored placement
  • Violates any law or infringes anyone’s rights

Content is public, and not reviewed for accuracy before posting

User Content may be visible to anyone who visits SynquUp, and may be indexed by search engines. Unless otherwise stated, SynquUp does not review submissions for medical or factual accuracy before they’re published, and does not verify the identity or credentials of the person posting. User Content reflects the views and experiences of the person who wrote it — not medical advice, and not the views of SynquUp.

Ownership and license

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting, you give SynquUp a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and (where reasonably necessary — for example, formatting for the site) reproduce your content on SynquUp and in connection with promoting SynquUp, for as long as it remains posted.

If you experience harassment

People share real, often vulnerable stories in Community Blogs — a diagnosis, a caregiving struggle, a difficult diagnosis or identity. If you feel you’ve been the target of harassment, threats, hate speech, or abusive content from another user, please contact us at chuck@synquup.com. Let us know what happened and, if possible, where it occurred (which post or comment) — we’ll review it and take appropriate action, which may include removing the content and restricting the person’s ability to post. You shouldn’t have to just live with it or leave the community to avoid it.

Removal

You can request removal of your own content by contacting chuck@synquup.com. SynquUp may also remove, edit, or restrict any content at its discretion, including content that violates these terms or the Privacy Reminder shown at the point of posting.

No liability for user content

SynquUp is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of anything posted by users, and is not liable for any harm arising from reliance on User Content. This is educational sharing between community members, not professional guidance.
