Privacy Policy

SynquUp™ is operated by SynquUp, LLC (“SynquUp,” “we,” “us”). SynquUp provides healthcare navigation and educational resources at synquup.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why, how it’s handled, and the choices you have.
What we do not do
- We do not offer user accounts or logins, and we do not build profiles about you or your health.
- We do not use the Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, retargeting, or other advertising or cross-site tracking tools.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not give sponsors, advertisers, or partners information about who you are, what you searched for, your ZIP code, or your health. If we share anything with them, it is only totals, such as how many times a listing was clicked.
SynquUp is built to avoid collecting protected health information (PHI).
SynquUp works as a directory and navigator, not a data intermediary. When you find a provider, program, copay assistance resource, clinical trial, or insurance plan through SynquUp, we point you directly to that organization’s own contact information or website. We do not collect your personal or health information and pass it along to providers, insurers, pharmaceutical companies, or any other third party on your behalf. If you choose to reach out to a resource we’ve linked you to, that exchange happens directly between you and that organization — not through SynquUp.
A note on HIPAA: SynquUp is not a HIPAA-covered entity, and information you share on this site is not protected by HIPAA. We are not claiming HIPAA compliance because we don’t collect PHI — those are two different things, and we want to be precise about which one is true.
Health information and blog comments
Please do not send us health details by email or the contact form, and do not post them in blog comments. Comments on the SynquUp blog are public. HIPAA does not apply to anything posted there. If you choose to comment, please do not include:
- Demographic details that could identify you or someone else (full name, date of birth, address, employer)
- Financial information (account numbers, insurance ID numbers, income details)
- Legal information (case numbers, details of legal proceedings)
- Clinical information (diagnoses, test results, medication names, treatment details tied to an identifiable person)
- Any other personal or identifying information about yourself or another person
Anything posted in a blog comment is public and is not protected the way information shared with a healthcare provider would be. Please share your experience in your own words without including identifying or sensitive details.
What we collect
- Information you send us. If you email us or use a contact form, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you write in your message.
- Newsletter sign-up. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address (and your name, if you give it).
- Blog comments. If you comment on the blog, WordPress stores the name and email address you enter on the comment form, along with your IP address. Your name and comment are shown publicly. Your email address is not displayed publicly.
- Server and security logs. Like most websites, our web host and security tools automatically record standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. This is used for security and to keep the site running.
- Necessary cookies. See “Cookies” below.
Care Navigator searches
Care Navigator searches on synquup.com/care/ run in your browser. You do not need to give your name, email, or date of birth to search.
- Your ZIP code, hub, and filter choices are kept in your browser’s session storage and are cleared when you close the tab. We do not save them on our servers.
- If you type a street address, it is sent to the U.S. Census Bureau’s geocoder to find map coordinates. The Census Bureau’s own privacy policy applies to that request.
- If you choose to use your current location, your browser asks your permission first, and the location stays in your browser.
- Map and direction links open Google Maps only when you click them. Google’s privacy policy applies once you do.
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies:
- Security cookies that help protect the site from attacks and abuse.
- A cookie-choice cookie that remembers the cookie choice you made.
- Optional comment-form cookies that remember your name and email on the comment form, only if you choose to save those details.
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Your files and your browser
We never receive what you type into our fillable PDFs (such as the Emergency Life Binder or free health record kits) or what you save in your browser; those stay with you.
How we use information
We use information to operate and improve the site, respond to your messages, send newsletters you’ve signed up for, show and moderate blog comments, and keep the site secure. We do not use it to build profiles about you, and we do not sell personal information.
Service providers
We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They handle information only to provide their service to us:
- Our web host (hosting and server logs)
- Google Workspace (email delivery)
- weMail (newsletter)
- ManyChat (automated replies when you message us or comment a keyword on our Facebook or Instagram posts; it receives your public profile name and the messages you exchange with us)
- Wordfence (website security)
- LiteSpeed (caching, to make pages load faster)
- WordPress plugins that run our contact forms
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the safety or rights of people or of SynquUp, or as part of a merger, sale, or transfer of the business.

Your privacy rights
We may not be required to follow the California Consumer Privacy Act, but we honor these requests from anyone: access, deletion, correction, and opt-out, including Global Privacy Control signals. You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we have about you and give you a copy (access)
- Correct information that is wrong (correction)
- Delete your personal information (deletion)
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share it, and we treat Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out)
To make a request, email chuck@synquup.com. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request. We will not treat you differently or deny you service for using your privacy rights.
California privacy rights
If the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) applies, California residents have rights under it. These include the rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and to not be discriminated against for using these rights.
- Sale and sharing: We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Sensitive personal information: We do not ask for it. If you include it in a message, we use it only to respond to you.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because we do not sell or share personal information or track you across other websites, there is nothing further to switch off. We do not track you across sites, so Do Not Track browser signals do not change how the site works.
California “Shine the Light”
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
Children
SynquUp is intended for adults 18 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Security and data breaches
No website can be completely secure. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
Third-party links and services
SynquUp links to external providers, government agencies, nonprofits, and other resources. Once you leave synquup.com, that organization’s own privacy policy applies — see the External Links / Third-Party Sites Disclaimer.
Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we will change the “Last updated” date above. For material changes, we will also post a notice on the site.
