Editorial & Sponsorship Independence Policy

Last updated: September 6, 2026

Purpose

SynquUp™ is a product of SynquUp, LLC. SynquUp exists to help people find care, coverage, and support without confusion or judgment. Sponsorship from pharmaceutical companies, health systems, payers, employers, and other healthcare organizations helps fund that work and keeps it free for the people who use it.

This policy explains how sponsorship works at SynquUp, and — just as importantly — what it does not do. It exists so that a health system, payer, pharmaceutical partner, patient, clinician, journalist, or future enterprise customer can look at one place and understand exactly where the lines are.

Our commitments

1. Sponsorship funds the platform. It does not shape clinical or resource guidance. Sponsors may fund a Health Hub, a resource, or a program. No sponsor — regardless of size or category — can purchase influence over what the Care Navigator recommends, how conditions are explained, or which resources appear as a match for someone’s needs.

2. Sponsored content is always labeled as sponsored. Every piece of sponsored material is marked clearly, in plain language, at the point someone encounters it — not buried in a footer or a separate disclosures page. SynquUp uses a consistent label system across the site:

  • Sponsored by [Organization] — a paid relationship exists; the organization is not endorsing SynquUp, and SynquUp is not endorsing the organization’s products.
  • Sponsored Educational Content — content created or funded in connection with a sponsor, distinct from SynquUp’s independent editorial content.
  • Sponsored Placement — a listing or resource’s position was influenced by a paid relationship, disclosed at that listing.

SynquUp deliberately does not use the word “Endorsed by.” Sponsorship describes a commercial relationship; endorsement implies the sponsor is affirmatively vouching for SynquUp, or SynquUp for the sponsor. Those are different claims, and SynquUp will not blur them.

3. Independent content and sponsored content are visually and structurally distinct. Within any Health Hub or resource page, SynquUp’s own educational guidance appears separately from sponsored modules, so a person can always tell which is which without having to think about it.

4. Resource and provider directory inclusion is not an endorsement. Appearing in SynquUp’s Care Navigator or resource directory does not mean SynquUp certifies, licenses, accredits, or guarantees a provider or organization. Availability, hours, insurance participation, and services can change; users are encouraged to verify directly with the provider.

5. Sponsorship does not override neutral search and matching. Where sponsorship affects the order or visibility of results (for example, a sponsored placement within a resource list), that influence is disclosed at the specific listing. Sponsorship never removes, replaces, or suppresses the independent, best-match results a person would otherwise see.

6. Health and medical claims require appropriate sourcing — sponsored or not. Any health-related claim on SynquUp, whether in independent editorial content or sponsored material, must be accurate, appropriately substantiated, and sourced to authoritative references. A sponsorship relationship does not lower that bar.

7. Resource information is reviewed on a regular basis. Resources, programs, and provider information are periodically reviewed and marked with a last-verified date, so people can judge how current the information is.

8. Conflicts of interest are disclosed, not hidden. Where SynquUp, its founder, or its contributors have a financial or material relationship relevant to specific content (for example, content connected to a sponsor), that relationship is disclosed alongside the content.

What this policy is not

This is a trust and editorial-governance document, not a substitute for SynquUp’s Advertising & Sponsorship Disclosure, Terms of Use, or other legal notices, which govern the contractual and regulatory aspects of sponsorship relationships. Where this policy and a formal legal notice address the same topic, the legal notice controls for compliance purposes; this policy describes the editorial principle behind it.
