Trust and Safety Center
These standards explain how information is sourced, reviewed, labeled, corrected, and kept separate from commercial influence.
A note from Chuck: I want you to see where information came from, when it was checked, who makes the final decision, and whether money influenced what you are seeing.
Source governance
High-risk health, medication, insurance, eligibility, legal, and regulatory statements require an authoritative source, a review date, and a defined recheck process.
Prefer official government, program, manufacturer, health-system, or primary-source material.
Capture the exact source, effective date, applicable population, limits, and destination link.
Check wording, context, reading level, accessibility, conflicts, and whether qualified review is required.
Show the source, review date, limitations, and the organization that makes the final decision.
Schedule review, monitor expirations, archive prior terms, and correct material changes.
Current official source supports the displayed information.
Some fields are supported; unresolved fields remain clearly marked.
No current claim is shown as settled until the source is checked.
The record is removed from active results and retained for audit history.
The research did not locate a current program; this does not prove none exists.
Privacy boundary
The current prototype does not require a name, account, date of birth, insurance-member number, medical-record number, prescription number, document upload, or saved health profile.
The site does not save medication lists or favorites; any list left in the browser by an earlier version is deleted automatically. Navigator answers are used to build the visible result and are not submitted to SynquUp in this prototype.
For location matching, a ZIP code is matched using a copy of U.S. Census Bureau ZIP data stored on this site. A city and state is matched the same way, using U.S. Census Bureau place data stored on this site. A street address is sent to the U.S. Census Bureau Geocoder. These services return approximate coordinates. SynquUp’s pages are designed not to store what you enter; the Census Bureau and our website host may keep standard technical logs under their own policies. Browser-shared current location remains in the browser for distance calculations.
HHS explains that HIPAA applies to covered entities and business associates. A health-related service that is outside HIPAA may still have obligations under other laws, including the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule for certain health apps and similar technologies. SynquUp will not claim blanket “HIPAA compliance.” Any future feature involving identifiable health information, covered-entity workflows, accounts, integrations, tracking, or document storage requires a fresh legal, privacy, security, and contractual review before release.
Commercial independence
Independent matching and paid presentation use separate data and separate rules.
Accessibility
Read the Advertising and Sponsorship Policy
Automated checks alone are not enough. Release testing must include keyboard use, screen-reader review, zoom and reflow, mobile touch, contrast, reduced motion, captions or transcripts, errors, and understandable recovery.
W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2Correction process
Capture the page, record, source, reported issue, and date without requesting unnecessary personal information.
Immediately escalate safety, privacy, access, expired-program, or materially misleading information.
Compare the current official source, archive the prior record, and obtain required subject review.
Update or temporarily remove the information, record the change, and set the next review date.
Check related records so the same defect is not repeated elsewhere.
The correction workflow now defines privacy limits, risk-based routing, response targets, documentation, and repeated-content checks. Mailbox activation remains a required public-launch check.
Release governance
| Change | Minimum review gate | Cannot publish when |
|---|---|---|
| Spelling or layout | Content and accessibility check | Meaning, navigation, or contrast is harmed |
| Community resource | Source and verification review | Contact, eligibility, service area, or availability is unresolved |
| Medication or insurance | Official source plus qualified subject review | Eligibility, coverage, savings, safety, or expiration is assumed |
| Medical education | Clinical or qualified subject review | Advice, diagnosis, treatment, or unsupported claims are introduced |
| Sponsored content | Contract, legal, compliance, and claim review | Payment is hidden or affects independent matching |
| Privacy or data feature | Privacy, security, legal, and architecture review | Collection, use, retention, consent, access, or breach duties are unresolved |
| Production release | Functional, mobile, accessibility, security, source, and owner approval | Rollback or required approvals are missing |
Use limits
SynquUp provides general education, search preparation, and possible next steps. It does not diagnose, prescribe, replace a professional, or provide emergency services.
A displayed program, provider, trial, benefit, or resource is not a promise of eligibility, enrollment, coverage, availability, savings, or outcome.
The outside organization controls its services, terms, privacy, availability, and decisions. Users should review the official destination before acting.
Programs, prices, coverage, recruitment, locations, and rules can change after review. Visible dates and correction routes are therefore required.
